POS

Exchanges:

  1. From Shopify POS, tap Orders.

  2. Tap the order of the item being returned.

  3. Tap Refund or exchange, and then tap the item that's being returned. Returned items are added to the inventory of the assigned location for your POS device. If you don't want to return the items to your inventory, then disable the Restock option.

  4. In the New products section, tap Add products for exchange.

  5. Select the new item that you want to exchange for the returned item.

  6. Tap Done.

  7. If the price of the new item is greater than the returned item, then tap Refund Balance to Gift Card -- the system should prompt you to scan or enter the gift card number.

  8. Tap Done.

 

Selling Gift Cards:

  1. From your Shopify POS products and cart screen, tap the gift card product. Note: If you are selling a physical gift card from POS choose the Gift Card option, NOT the option that says Physical Gift Card -- that one is for people buying physical gift cards online.

  2. Choose a preset value for the gift card from the drop-down menu, or create a Custom Amount

  3. f you're setting a custom value for the gift card, then enter the amount into the box that displays, and tap Next.

  4. If you are selling a physical gift card, then activate the gift card using one of the following options:

  5. Tap Create

  6. The gift card product is added to the cart. Tap Charge to continue to checkout.

  7. Select the customer's payment method, and then tap Accept or Charge.

  8. When the post-checkout screen appears, complete the sale using one of the following options:

    • Tap Email receipt and gift card, then enter the customers email and tap Send receipt.
    • Tap Print receipt and gift card to print a paper receipt if you have a printer installed.

 

Redeeming Gift Cards:

  1. Add products to the Shopify POS cart in the usual way, then tap Charge.

  2. Tap Gift card (if you don't see the Gift card option, then enable it from the Payments settings screen).

  3. Enter the gift card number using one of the following options:

  4. Tap Redeem.

  5. If there's a remaining balance that the customer needs to pay, then tap of the following options:

    • Tap Add payment to add another payment method.
    • Tap Mark as partial to mark the order as partially paid and take additional payment at a later date.
  6. Optional: On the post-checkout screen, provide the customer with a receipt using one of the following options:

    • Tap Email receipt to email the customer a copy of their receipt.
    • Tap SMS receipt to send the customer a copy of their receipt in a text message.
    • Tap Print receipt to print a paper receipt, if you have a printer installed.
  7. Tap Done to return to the products screen.

 

Check Gift Card Balance:

1. Log into Shopify Admin, not from POS APP.

2. Choose Products, from drop down choose Gift Cards

3. Search the last 4 digits of the card, locate the card from the results and click for balance and gift card usage history
